If you want a Christian novel, then this book isn't for you, they talked about praying to a God but it was to the god of the sea. It is a clean read and is easy to follow but it has clean versions of curse words ( I hope this makes sense.) I hope there is another book about these characters. If a reader likes story about pirates and magic spells( the oath bounding) than I recommend this story. This book has a little lesson tucked into the story line about forgiveness. This book had twists I didn't see coming. But, that is because of the season of grief I am in personally. "Oathbound" by Victoria McCombs is not my normal type of genre but I did like this novel even through a couple of scenes made me cry. ![]()
